£0
There are lots of variables...But here are the basics...
Tuition Fees: £9250 x 3 year course = £27750
Living Costs: £1000 per month x 27 months = £27000
A conservative estimate to get a 1st degree =£54750
Completing a really good application form is hard work and my never get read by the selection team. However we need to assume that every word will be scrutinised. Put your effort into the content, the formatting, the SPaG and you will win out in the end.
Apprentices I work with forget that they are being paid to study.
Apprenticeships enable this and it shouldn't be forgotten.
Throughout the process of securing the job of your dreams most things are controllable.
The quality of your application form, the quality of your interview prep, the quality of your technical knowledge, the way you present yourself, the first impressions you give.
Some things aren't controllable.
Whether your application form peaks interest in the appointing manager, whether the interview questions you have prepared for are asked, whether you connect with the interview panel, whether you get appointed.
This is OK.
But always control the controllable.
You need to be able to answer the Why.
Why an apprenticeship, why this apprenticeship.
You deserve to be trained. You deserve to work with people that inspire you. You deserve to be respected by your employer. You deserve a competetive salary.
Qualifcations are a tick box that get you infront of the interviewer. It's your performance in interview that will get you the job.
Although many organisations have strict policies around nepitism. I think it's OK to mention in interview the names of friends or family that are respected in the organisation you are being interviewed for.
Enteprise is a skill that shows initiative and self motivation.
If you've got. Flaunt it.
There is never an occasion when you should dress informally for an interview.
(Unless instructed to do so).
Could technoiogy take your job?
Do your research...
You're looking for the job of your dreams.
Interview 1: You were nervous. Your STAR structure was rusty. You weren't selected.
Interview 2: You felt good. Your answers were on point. You narrowly missed out.
Interview 3: You were in control. You spoke with authority. You got offered the job.
This TED talk has caused a fair bit of debate.

it's never too soon to start planning your career pathway.
If you've worked on understanding why you want the job.
If you've practiced answering questions in the STAR structure.
If you're enthusiastic about the company you're being interviewed for.
You will get an offer.
This was a conversation I once had in an interview. She didn't get the Apprenticeship.
Me: 'our organisation has many sites where we manufacture our products.
Could you name one of the sites please?'
Interviewee: 'No sorry'.
Me: I'll give you a clue. You're sat on one of the sites now.
Interviewee: I don't know.
Me: How did you get here this morning?
Interviewwee: My mum brought me.
The first time you meet your interviewer...Smile.
